I sooo wanted to take my vacation and go to Japan this summer. I saw the ad at the end of the spoiler for the Chapter 455.

Jiraiya vs Pein outcome - Jiraiya dies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Sandaime, then Asuma, then THE J-man. Kishimoto pulled a Dumbledore and killed my most fav character in Naruto!!!!!!!!!!!

RIP Jiraiya. You are the greatest and strongest of the Three Legendary Sannins and a great teacher. Each of your student did something great - Pein, Minato and Naruto. Both Minato and Naruto turned out great. You look to Minato as your son and you even named Naruto - Minato's son. Naruto is the child in the prophecy of the toad sage -- he will defeat Pein and bring great revolution and peace to the world!!!

Naruto 361 - Weak Spot

Deidara released another round of C4 right in Sasuke's face. After the smoke clears, Deidara is shocked to see Sasuke is still alive. Sasuke has figured out his plan. Against the Sharingan, the only thing Deidara can do is to hide his hand seals. But, seals can always be read no matter how fast you are when they are visible. All of Deidara's jutsus are earth based. Sasuke is lighting. Lightning pwned Earth based.

Sasuke was only trying to test his theory. He used his katana to puncture one of Deidara's mines. That take a toll on him as well. Deidara is shocked that he can see where the mines were. Sasuke explained again that the Sharingan give color to charka. That is how he can see them.

Next week: Sasuke vs. Deidara. Final Explosion.


Naruto 362 - Masterpiece

Art is beauty that blooms and withers in an instant. What starts as art becomes an explosion.

Sharingan can see thru everything!!! Sasuke can see where the mines are. He is not just trying to get a foothold in a safe spot. Deidara ask Sasuke what will he do if he is not right. Sasuke has more stuff up his sleeves and said he will be forced to use his other option. He asks Deidara where Itachi is again. Sasuke is out of chakra.

Deidara is pissed at Sharingan, Sasuke and Itachi. Eyes that reject and disdain his art; eyes that show no wonder, no appreciation and ignore his creations. Deidara refuses to look at by them anymore. Even though he cannot move, he still wants to use his clay to destroy Sasuke. He plans to self destruct - death will transform him into work of art. An explosion that will leave scars in the earth and prasied unlike anything before it. Deidara's grand finale!!

hehe...my bad. I have not updated for over a month. Just too tired to post the summaries. Let just say that work is crazily busy. Below are the summaries for these chapters, re-worded from the wikipedia entry:

The Hunt for Itachi
At Konoha, it was decided that to find Sasuke, they need to capture Itachi, not to kill him. Together Team Kakashi/Yamato and Team 8 set out for the mission. They were split into groups of 3 - 1 shinobi and 2 Kakashi's nin dogs. Naruto's group consist of Yamato and Hinata.

At the same time, Sasuke took his group to the Uchiha outpost ran by talking nin cats (much like Kakashi's talking nin dogs) to stock up on supplies and weapons. After they have gotten their supplies, they split up to gather more information on the Akatsuki whereabouts. During this time, certain members of Sasuke's team (not Sasuke himself) brushed by members of Team Konoha. The nin dogs who were with Sakura found Sasuke's scent and led her to a city. Karin walked by Sakura and the nin dogs said that Sasuke's scent was moving away. (If only they talk to each other!!! Otherwise, Sakura could have found Sasuke).

Sometime during Naruto's search, Kabuto appeared before them. [It appears that he survived after all!] He gave them a book that contained the details on every Kabuto and Orochimaru learned about the Akatsuki (note that it is not complete). Kabuto thanked Naruto for inspiring him to find his purpose in life after the Sasuke incident. It appeared that he had absorbed Orochimaru's essence into himself. 30% of his body is now Orochimaru's. Kabuto wanted to become even greater than Oro. Naruto and Yamato tried to attack him, but he evaded. He still needed to learn to control Oro's power which is slowly taking over his own body. Once he knew how to control it, he will come after Sasuke for killing Oro and lastly Naruto.

At the Akatusuki's end, after they have sealed the four-tails, Deidara and Tobi decide to move out on their own to track down Kakashi/Naruto or go after Sasuke.

Sasuke vs. Deidara
Deidara decided that they will go after Sasuke. Upon their attack, Sasuke sliced through Tobi but Tobi was OK [Tobi is probably of earth element]! Deidara continued to use his clay attacks on Sasuke. Sasuke changed to use his level 2 cursed seal. Deidara used a clay dragon to attack Sasuke. Besides the dragon, he had Tobi to rig the area with land mines as well. However, Sasuke was able to turn the trap against Deidara.

Deidara of course survives and it appears that Deidara has seen and experienced the power of the 2nd level Sharingan first hand. Itachi and Kisame forced Deidara into joining Akatsuki. Deidara was defeated by Itachi and he admitted that Itachi's Sharingan is beautiful. However, he did not accept the fact that the art of the Sharingan is more powerful than his explosive art. During his time in Akatsuki, he probably trained himself to be Itachi's equal or better.

Back to the present, Deidara eats his own clay via his real mounth (not the ones on his hands) to create the C4 Garuda. This is a giant clay clone of himself. Sasuke was able to track the multiple microscopic explosives from Garuda and trapped Deidara using his Sharingan genjutsu. Sasuke's attack missed Deidara's heart and asked him Itachi's location. Deidara asked Sasuke whether he know why he needs to thank Itachi.

Deidara then dispell the genjusu. The one Sasuke attacked is just another clay clone. Itachi used the same trick before on him and he will not fall for the same trick twice. Ever since the day he fought Itachi, he trained his left eye to counter the Sharingan and it's genjutsu techniques. The clone locks around Sasuke's arm once stabbed, allowing Deidara to perform his finishing move. "Prepare to eat C4!!!!!!!!"

The Sharingan has failed! Will Deidara's experience secure his victory!? The battle concludes next chapter!!

Last week was Japan's Golden week, so no Shonen Jump. Now, the story continues...

Itachi and Kisame captured the 4-tailed. They are waiting for Akatsuki leader to contact them. They talked about the order of sealing the tailed-beast; otherwise, the sealing statue will collapse. They will capture 1-8 tails now and save the 9-tails last. Capturing Naruto and sealing the Kyuubi now will upset the balance. The leader found them and talked about the recent deaths of the Zombie pair Hidan and Kakuzu and how Kakashi and Naruto killed them. Sealing the 4-tail is not the most pressing matter now. He also told them about Orochimaru's death and who killed him - Sasuke. He also told them that Sasuke is gather a team that is dangerous to them. If Sasuke learns about Itachi and Kisame, they will disrupt their plans and Akatsuki leader warns everyone to be careful.

At Konoha, Sakura suggested to Tsunade that they should capture the Akatsuki at least so Ibiki can question them. Tsundae said that is what she ordered the teams to do. However, Kakashi stated that from their experiences encountering them, capturing them is near impossible. It is either too dangerous or not an option. The only thing they can do is to find Itachi.

Strong enough to concern even the Akatsuki, Sasuke's team begins to move. "Hebi" and Naruto both begin their search for Itachi.

I have not updated for so long because the current arc is not really exciting. It is somewhat of a story build up or intro to something bigger. Basically, the current arc is about Sasuke and his process to build his four man team "The Serpent" after he defeated Orochimaru.

Sasuke 4 man team consists of Suigetsu (with relations to the 7 swordsman of the mist - goal of joining the team is to defeat and collect Kisame's sword), Karin (the only konochi of the team with a special ability - goal of joining the team (like Sakura and Ino) is to be with Sasuke, and the last but not least Jugo (the nin with the killer instinct - the source and the origin of the cursed seal - goal of joining the team is to follow Kimimaro's last words (somewhat). Kimimaro died for Sasuke; he went to retrieve Sasuke no matter what (i.e. died because of his illness). Kimimaro regard Sasuke to be like him and his successor and "THE" person who should be Orochimaru's next vessel (since he is unable to become one). Jugo wanted to protect Sasuke and see how strong he is - he is the one who is able to stop him besides Kimimaro.

Sasuke's goal to create the team is to head out to kill Itachi. Naruto heard the news of Sasuke defeating Orochimaru from Jiraiya, but Sasuke is not coming back. Naruto figured out that there is only one reason why Sasuke is not coming back. Konoha still have the on going mission to defeat the Akatsuki. Naruto wanted to continue with the mission and setup the team to go after Itachi as well. Both Sasuke and Naruto have the common goal; but they are going along a different path.

[I hope that they won't kill off Itachi. I really like him and think that he still have a chance to redeem himself. He may have a hidden agenda to go to the Akatsuki and kill off his clan. ]

As Sasuke and Suigetsu make their way across water, Suigetsu asks why Sasuke is recruiting people in the first place. Sasuke answers that he has a certain plan that he's been formulating ever since he joined Orochimaru, one that can be carried out more efficiently with a full platoon. He also adds that he picked everyone out a long time ago. Suigetsu understands, somewhat, but still wants to know why Karin, a strong devotee to Orochimaru with a questionable disposition, was picked. Sasuke admits that there are others he could've picked, but chose Karin for her unique abilities.

After arriving at the base, Sasuke and Suigetsu meet Karin, who knew they were coming. Once they enter into a private room, Sasuke tells Karin to join him, which surprises her since she's in charge of the facility. Sasuke replies that since Orochimaru's gone, there's no need for the prisoners to stay and tells Suigetsu to free them. Karin relents, but still refuses to go since she's under no obligation to do so. Sasuke isn't fazed, and says that he'll just find someone else.

Over by the cells, Suigetsu confirms the rumors about Orochimaru's demise and sets the prisoners free, under the promise that they'll spread the word that "Sasuke Uchiha killed Orochimaru and set us free" and that "he's here to bring peace and safety to the whole world."

Back in the room, Karin locks the door and, in a very amorous manner, agrees to come if he really wants her to, removing her glasses as she does so. Sasuke asks why she changed her mind so quickly, and she replies that she was tired of guarding the place. Ignoring Sasuke's protest for space, she gets closer to him, saying that they just need each other and that they don't need Suigetsu, who slices the door open, advising them to leave since Karin clearly doesn't want to come. When Sasuke says she's changed her mind, Karin, who left Sasuke's side the moment the door was destroyed, puts her glasses back on and denies this in a rather embarrassed manner, saying that she's coincidentally going the same way they are, at least for the moment.

Elsewhere, Jugo sits in a cell in the North Hideout, talking to himself in the shadows about whether to kill a girl or a guy first. As he contemplates, a pattern similar to Sasuke's cursed seal spreads along his arms. Concurrently, Karin explains that Jugo is the means behind Orochimaru's development of the cursed seals. His body naturally produces an enzyme that produces the effect, but causes uncontrollable rage in those exposed to it. This is demonstrated by one of the prisoners in the hideout, who goes mad and slaughters most of the residents while transforming into a level 2 cursed seal form. One of the survivors finds his way to Sasuke, but dies from his injuries. The madman follows, and is quickly dispatched by Sasuke. Meanwhile, in Jugo's cell, he plans to kill the next person to open his cell door if it happens to be a girl.

Back in Konoha, Sakura arrives at Naruto's apartment to tell him to wash up and get ready. Naruto gets excited thinking that they´re going on a date, to which Sakura responds that Tsunade is waiting for them. They meet Tsunade, and Jiraiya is also there. Tsunade informs them of Orochimaru's death at Sasuke's hands, which Jiraiya's most trusted sources have confirmed. Both Naruto and Sakura seem very happy to hear the news, expecting that now that Orochimaru is dead, Sasuke will finally return to Konoha. To their disappointment, Jiraiya tells them that Sasuke is not returning.

At the North Hideout, prisoners infected with the cursed seal surround Sasuke's group. After Karin informs them that Jugo is not among the prisoners, Sasuke and Suigetsu dispose of them, but without killing them (something Sasuke suggests). Having found the keys to Jugo's cell, Karin uses her tracking ability to find him, but tricks Suigetsu into going the wrong way while she heads towards Jugo's cell with Sasuke. Not realizing he's alone, Suigetsu ponders about the cursed seal's monstrous side effects and tries to ask Sasuke if he experiences something similar, only to realize that he's been ditched. Upon hearing that they came to recruit Jugo, one of the injured prisoners teases Suigetsu about how Jugo is far stronger than they are. Angered, Suigetsu decides to kill that one prisoner, reasoning that Sasuke won't notice.

At Jugo's cell, Karin unlocks the door and Sasuke goes in first. Jugo, having decided at the last second to kill a guy, is delighted to see Sasuke. Jugo rushes in for the kill as Sasuke readies his weapon. Sasuke's attempts to reason with Jugo fail; in his current state, his rage prevents any reason. As the battle goes on, Jugo uses his natural ability to transform one of his arms, turning it into a giant piston (similar to The Big O's "Sudden Impact"). Sasuke counters by growing one of the hand-wings from his back. Suigetsu then appears to take over the fight, explaining that beating Jugo to a pulp is the only way to calm him. Jugo morphs his piston arm into a massive forearm blade to deal with Suigetsu. After they ignore Sasuke's requests to stop, Sasuke wraps the two in summoned snakes and exudes an enormous amount of murderous intent. Jugo's transformation recedes, and he suddenly rushes back to his cell, demanding they lock it. Karin explains that while the rage-driven Jugo may be violent and bloodthirsty, Jugo himself has no desire to harm anyone.

Despite Jugo's insistence that he remained imprisoned, Sasuke insists on taking him along. Jugo finally agrees after hearing that Kimimaro, who was consistently able to stop Jugo's rage-driven rampages, died to bring Sasuke to Orochimaru. With his team gathered and dubbed "Snake" by Sasuke, Sasuke reveals their goal: to kill his brother Itachi. Suigetsu, who wants to take Kisame's sword for himself, is willing to participate. Karin, being enamored with Sasuke, also agrees to help, though she is unwilling to admit that her admiration is the reason. Suigetsu teases her about it, saying that he knows about something Karin did something to Sasuke long ago. Before he can reveal what, she punches him to silence him. Sasuke merely tells them to get along. Finally, Jugo merely wants to see how strong Sasuke is.

In Konoha, Naruto and Sakura come to the same conclusion as Sasuke, reasoning that his desire for revenge will drive him to kill Itachi. Therefore, they decide the simplest path to Sasuke is to find Itachi. As both teams resolve to find Itachi, both he and Kisame sit in on a cliff as it begins raining, with Itachi commenting about an incoming storm.

Naruto 347 (Detour)

Suigetsu arised out of the water. Sasuke said that Suigetsu was the first. There will be two others - Juugo in the North lair and Karin in the south lair. Sasuke wished to free other Orochimaru's experiments as well. Suigetsu said that he can't stand those two. Sasuke said that he needed the three of them to cooperate; there is no need for them to actually like each other. Suigetsu questioned Sasuke why he choose them. But, if that is what Sasuke choose, he will go along with it.

Sasuke tells him to shut up and get dressed as Suigetsu is naked. Suigetsu did not like his attitude; he said that Sasuke is not in charge because he defeated Orochimaru. Everyone was after him. Sooner or later, someone was bound to kill him. Just because Orochimaru like Sasuke, Sasuke got more chances in killing him then they do. What is your point, Sasuke asked. Suigetsu said that he have the advantage now (he is pointing to Sasuke's head - like a gun), but it seems like he is only kidding and testing Sasuke. Sasuke's heart rate did not even changed; he did really kill Orochimaru. He praised Sasuke and said he had always heard how strong he was, and he was the one who defeated his old captin Momochi Zabuza (the 7 swordsmen of the mist). Suigetsu wanted to take a detour before getting the others.

Back at Konoha, Konohamaru and a clone was outside the Ramen Bar. Naruto and co came out and he said to Konohamaru that he has finally learned the Shadow Clone technique; he wanted to see what he had learnt. Konohamaru transformed into Sexy no Jutsu - Girl vs Girl version (upgraded version of Naruto's Sexy no Jutsu). Naruto, of course, like it a lot. But, Sakura was mad and asked Naruto whether this is what they to when they hang out...Naruto said that this jutsu is excellent for distraction (and it is!! so far none can with stand Naruto's original version except Kakashi and currently Sai). He said that this is a contest between the two of them...Sakura tried to beat the crap out of Konohamaru and said that the only people who would fall for that are Konohamaru and Naruto. Konohamaru transformed into Sexy no Jutsu - Boy vs Boy version (Sasuke vs Sai). Sakura fell for it and Naruto hated it. She tried to cover up and denied what she said.

Back at the Wave Country, Sasuke looked up at the sign "The Great Naruto Bridge" (It seems to me that he is smiling or thinking back to the happier times of Team 7). Suigetsu asked him what he was thinking about; Sasuke replied that he was thinking about how they need to get moving. He bought Suigetsu to Zabuza's grave. Suigetsu took his sword. Sasuke asked whether he can actually wield it. Suigetsu said that he trained under Zabuza; the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist's swords were passed down from generation to generation; he said that using the sword, he could even beat Sasuke. If Juugo was to join them, he will need this sword. Suigetsu and Sasuke are going to find the closer one first -- Karin.

Somewhere else, there is a woman chasing after a guy and said that she will not have you all running around just because Orochimaru is dead. She felt a familiar chakra.

Who are the people Sasuke are seeking and why is he looking for them?

Work has been crazy!!! I have not been able to find the time to do the summaries last week. Here they are the fight and resolution of Sasuke vs Orochimaru.

Naruto 345 (Ritual)

Sasuke thought that the fight was over already (with his cursed seal). It was far too easy. Orochimaru fought back with his snakes and bind Sasuke; Sasuke appeared to be paralyzed. Oro said that he is undying and Sasuke is too weak to kill him. Oro began his Soul Transfer Ritual. Both Sasuke and Oro went inside Oro's alternate dimension.

[Flashback: Oro vs Itatchi]. Itachi trapped Oro with paralyzing genjutsu via his Sharingan as Oro wanted to use the same Soul Transfer Jutsu to him. Itachi then cut off Oro's arm. He told Oro "All of your jutsu are powerless against these eyes". Back to the present, it appeared that history repeated itself. It is happening again and Sasuke used his Sharingan to trap Oro. Oro is crazed "Those eyes will be MINE!!!!!!".

At Kabuto's, Kabuto said that the medicine are not enough anymore to sustain Oro's body. Most likely, Oro will need to perform the Soul Transfer Ritual soon (today). He seriously doubt that Sasuke will just say Yes and give his body to Oro freely. He proceeded back to Oro's room. He said that Sasuke will not be able to survive the ritual. After he left, we see Oro's hand along with the snakes (his ring is "Sky").

Kabuto saw the blood and the giant snake (molting), and he saw Sasuke there as well. He reasoned that the ritual was over already. Sasuke sensed Kabuto there. Kabuto asked "Which one are you?!".

Oro vs Sasuke - one has disappeared forever and one remained alive. Which one is in Sasuke's body? Who is the victor?


Naruto 346 (The Secret of the New Jutsu!!)

Kabuto asked Sasuke, "Which one are you?". Sasuke replied, Which one do you think? He then activated his Sharingan and bought Kabuto back to his fight with Orochimaru (or bought him back to his mind)...

Orochimaru is trapped still and Sasuke's mind (cursed seal even) seems to be spreading to Orochimaru's dimension. Oro is freaking out =p "This is impossible!!!! I created this dimension myself. Unbelievable!!! This place is mine alone" Sasuke told Oro, "no matter wat jutsu you use, before these eyes...I think you understand". History repeats itself. It is a wonder whether knows Itachi's exchange with Orochimaru before. Kabuto is scared and afraid -- Sasuke's will is overtaking the dimension. Back to Oro, he does not want to die in his own dimension. He is The immortal Orochimaru, "I am the man who will unravel and expose the entire world. I will hold everything in the palm of my hand". It is no wonder that the Akatsuki recruited him. His goal and their goal are so similar.

Back to the reality, Kabuto thought that Oro is dead. Sasuke said that it is not true; Sasuke absorbed everything Orochimaru was.

Somewhere at Konoha, Tsunade examined Kazuku. The linkages binding his cell system together have all been cut by Naruto's jutsu. She could not believe that something like this could exist. Kakashi was at awe as well. Tsunade reasoned that Naruto molded his wind chakra into countless small blades and these blades were able to deal damage on a microscopic cellular level. Yamato asked about Naruto. Tsunade said it is a problem and she told Kakashi to never let Naruto to use 風遁螺旋手裏剣 Fuuton Rasen Shuriken again. She found the same condition in Naruto's right hand, but not as bad as Kazuku. Naruto's cells in his hand have been peeled off of one another. Tsunade can't fix it. If Naruto continue to use the jutsu, he will lose the ability to mold chakra.

Back at the ramen bar, Kakashi tried to tell Naruto about his jutsu. Naruto knew what he wanted to say and tells him that everyone knows their own body the best. He will become the Hokage; he is crazy strong, so it will not be a problem at all!

At Oro's lair, Sasuke went to a place where there were a lot of water and tube like things. Someone came out of the water, and said that Sasuke has defeated Orochimaru. Sasuke went there to free him. That person is called Suigetsu, and he thanked Sasuke for freeing him. Sasuke asked Suigetsu to come with him.

After defeating Orochimaru, Sasuke begins his next move. What is Sasuke's motivation for freeing the mysterious "Suigetsu" character?

Naruto 343 Merciless...

Somewhere not in Konoha, Sasuke and Orochimaru are standing in a field with shinobis who were defeated by Sasuke. These shinobis are still alive and Sasuke stated that they are not the ones he wanted to kill. Oro thought that Sasuke has surpassed him when he was his age. His body will soon be his.

At Konoha, Naruto, Sakura and Sai were at Ichiraku Ramen Bar eating ramen. Naruto was not able to use his right hand due to the injury caused by using Fuuton Rasen Shuiriken. Sakura warned him to not use Fuuton Rasen Shuiriken too many times; she cannot always heal him. Naruto felt that he can finally pursue Sasuke now. Sakura offered to feed Naruto; but Sai jumped in and fed him instead. Naruto complained that Sai ruined the moment; Sai said that he should help a friend in need (that is what the book says). Naruto said that you need to look at the situation as well. =p Kakashi appeared. Sakura said that he is not at the hospital. Kakashi said that he did not need to use the Mangekyo Sharingan this time because of Naruto, otherwise he would still be at the hospital. (It seems that Kakashi fed Naruto =p -- Naruto said something about from Sakura to Kakashi =p). Kakashi said that Naruto is now his equal, if not stronger than him. However, there will be great harm done to the user with all powerful jutsu.

Back at Orochimaru's place, Oro was seriously ill at his bed. Kabuto warned him that his body cannot take the medicine anymore. He then went off to get more medicine. Then, a blade of chakra went through the wall and shoot towards Oro. Oro blocked it with his arms. He recognized this chakra, but not the shape manipulation. Sasuke appeared with his level 1 curse seal and Sharingan activated. He said that he has nothing left to learn from Oro. Oro seemed to anticipate this.


Naruto 344 (Snake and…)

[This is all Sasuke vs Orochimaru and a lot of dialogue].

Sasuke continued to mock Oro's goals and his genius. Sasuke said that Oro is a genius, but he and other genius are nothing compare to an Uchiha. Oro was not able to take Itachi because he is too much for him; that is why he went for Sasuke. Sasuke was disgusted at Oro's goal to take over others' bodies and it is the same as Itachi's murder of the Uchiha clan just to measure his own abilities. Sasuke attacked Oro. Oro escaped by loosing his human form and reavealed his true form -- a white snake. Sasuke activate his level 2 cursed seal and grew his wings. He said that he will defeat Oro like how a hawk can defeat a snake.

Oro flashback: young Oro and young Sandaime. They were at Oro's parents' grave. Oro found the skin of a white snake on the grave and asked Sandaime what it was. Sandaime was surprised; he never seen it before and said that it must have been hard to find -- it is something very rare and you don't get to see it often. Oro asked why is the skin white; Sandaime did not know and no one even think about that. Sandaime further explained that for a long time, white snakes symbolized the image of good fortune and rebirth. The fact that Oro found it here might be some sign -- that his parents reincarnated somewhere and someday Oro can meet them. Oro asked when will that be; Sandaime said he did not know. Oro was staring at the skin, smiling -- Good fortune and rebirth...

Good fortune, rebirth and immortality. A monster that was born from that wish is now the prey of an even great monster (Sasuke)!!!

Next week: master and student know each other well. The result of the showdown -- "New Era".

All of the recent arc is about the master and student relationship. How the student surpass their master -- Shikamaru surpassed Asuma and finally grew up to take responsibilites seriously; he also learned the meaning to protect the King of Konoha. He is no more of a guy who always think things are troublesome. Naruto surpassed Kakashi and even the Fourth by completing the Rasengan justu -- Kakashi and the Fourth are unable to add their own element to the Rasengan to complete the jutsu. Naruto completed it (even by 50%) within a month and created the Fuuton Rasen Shuiriken - Wind element and Rasengan. Naruto also grew up (no need to always be saved by someone) and defeated the Akatsuki.

Now, it is Sasuke vs Orochimaru. The results of their clash can be -- Sasuke defeated Oro or Oro defeated Sasuke and take his body as the next host. Looking at the recent arc, the result is most probably Sasuke defeated Orochimaru, thus creating a new era. I do hope that Sasuke will not be taken over by Orochimaru as Naruto will save Sasuke from darkness like Neji said.

Naruto 342 (The King)

Sai/Sakura/Pakkun arrived to aid Shika, but they are shocked to hear that he defeated Hidan by himself. At the other side, Choju and Ino were healing Naruto. They said that Naruto has become a less-intelligent Shikamaru. Naruto finds that comparison unfair.

Yamato said that Naruto was able to use his jutsu 3 times, when his limit at training was two. Kakashi said that Naruto has surpassed the Fourth and as well as his own. Kakuzu is still alive; he is saying how he is being beaten by some kids. Kakashi said that they are kids compared to how he has fight the First Hokage, and it is only natural for the new generations to surpass the old. Conjuring Chidori, Kakashi finishes Kakuzu off.

Team 7 and Team 10 reported back to Tsunade at Konoha. She lets them to take a little time off. Shika visits Asuma's grave and finds Kurenai there. He talks about what he learnt from Asuma and that he will protect Kurenai/Asuma's unborn child. He will become his/her teacher in the future. You can clearly see that Kurenai has a ring on her finger. She may/may not be married to Asuma already. Shika and his dad Shikaku play Shogi. Shikaku asked who the King is. Shika said that the King refers to the next generation, which the current generation exists to protect (I already guessed that). Asuma is like his father, Sandiame. The Third always talks about the "Will of Fire" and how it will live on even if he dies. The Will of Fire is in everyone living in Konoha; it will pass on to the next generation.

At another place with a lot of fallen shinobis, Sasuke and Orochimaru stand. Orochimaru commented that Sasuke is still too soft and did not kill any of them. Sasuke simply replies that they are not the ones he wants to kill.

Naruto 341 (The Training's Results)

The first page show Naruto and Sasuke (God of Thunder -- Sasuke vs God of Wind -- Naruto).

Kakashi told Naruto to go ahead and fight with Kakuzu. Kakuzu said that they should have sent someone who can fight long range; he then changed himself more. He is not only shape-shifting, but drawing a large amount of chakra as well. Kakashi reasoned that he is doing this to counter Naurto's jutsu.

Naruto started his Shadow Clone Jutsu once again -- 4 Narutos where three of them are clones. One of them jumped after forming the Fuuton Rasen Shuiriken. Kakuzu thought things thru and grabbed one of the Narutos. Ino said that he saw through it. But no =) The one he captured is a Shadow Clone. Naruto risked his real body to distract him with the other two clones who were making the Fuuton Rasen Shuiriken. Naruto charged Kakuzu. [Naruto's attack is really awesome. Kishimoto used several pages to show it.] It made a huge hole on the ground and Kakuzu's masks broke. Kakuzu fell into the hole. Naruto landed somewhere else - tired, but he smiled as he noticed Kakuzu was down.

Kakashi was at awe. Naruto's Fuuton Rasen Shuiriken is unreal; even with his Sharingan, he cannot count how many times the wind slashed Kakuzu. What a jutus!!!

The Akatsuki collaped!! Konoha Team sets home.

Just a note: Naruto I is over last week. Goodbye 2 years of fillers!!...Next Thursday, Naruto II (Naruto: Hurricane Chronicles) starts!!

Naruto 340 (Dangerous Bridge)

Chouji wanted to help Naruto, but Yamato stopped him from going close to Naruto, as Chouji will be hit by the jutsu as well. Kakuzu commented that this is the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki’s power and how Naruto's jutsu is monster-like. Naruto charged Kakuzu; when he nearly hit him, his jutsu ended. Kakuzu got a hold of Naruto and tried to take out his heart.

It is a miss and Kakashi said that this sort of thing is to be expected from the no. 1 unpredictable ninja. Yamato and Kakashi went and saved Naruto from Kakuzu's grip. Ino and Chouji discussed his jutsu among themselves. Chouji asked him for a name like Rasen Shuriken, the jutsu should be thrown, and not run and hit the enemy with it. Naruto yelled back and said that it will be awesome if it hits. Yamato explained that even though it is called Rasen Shuriken, it needs to hit directly from zero distance -- like the normal Rasengan. Rasen Shuriken is a close range jutsu. Kagebushin are used as a feint and are the basis of the jutsu. Kakashi said that the time limit for the jutsu is still too short and lasted for few seconds.

Kakuzu reasoned that as long as he does not get close to the jutsu, he will be ok. [The big bad Akatsuki is afraid of Naruto's Rasen Shuriken =)]. Naruto wanted to do the jutsu one more time and he will end the fight with the new jutsu. Ino and Chouji said that the opponent is Akatsuki; if Naruto does the same thing over and over again, he will definitely dodge it! They should fight together. Kakashi said that this is true -- 5 against 1 and there is no need to cross a dangerous bridge.

Naruto still wanted to do this by himself. He asked Kakashi to think back to what he told Naruto during training. Kakashi had said that the only shinobi that can surpass the Fourth Hokage Yondiame is Naruto. Teamwork is important, but at this moment, Naruto wants to cross the dangerous bridge by himself. If he cannot cross the other side, he will stay as a kid forever. [Naruto wants to grow up and does not want to rely on others to save him; he is the only one who can save Sasuke - his best friend.] He pleaded to Kakashi and asked him to not to remove that bridge.

Kakashi asked Yamato for his opinion. Yamato said that Naruto grew up and he is not the Naruto from before. It is decided then and they will let Naruto to handle the fight.

The new jutsu -- there are thoughts for a dream (being Hokage) and the thoughts of a friend (Sasuke). Naruto's two teachers look on and Naruto challenges the Aktasuki once more.

Next week, because of the starting of the new Hurricane Chronicles arc in the anime, the beginning of the next chapter will be in full color -- the results of the training!

Sorry about the delay. Naruto has no new chapter for a whole week due to no Shonen Jump. I did not get a chance to post the summary last week.

Naruto 338

Team Kakashi/Yamato arrived. Yamato said to Kakashi -- I've never seen you so beaten up, Senpai =) Kakuzu looked to the new arrivals and commented to Naruto that he looked beaten up and ask he wanted to take him on? Kakashi told two of them to go help Shikamaru; long-range fighter and a medical nin. Sai, Sakaru and Pakkun went to where Shikamaru was.

Naruto told them that he can handle Kakuzu. Kakashi asked Yamato whether he completed the jutsu. Yamato said that Naruto's jutsu is only 50% completed. Kakashi was disappointed, but Yamato asked Kakashi to just watch him. They are about to see a completely new Naruto. Yamato seemed proud of Naruto and how far he had become.

At the Nara Clan's forest, Hidan was still talking about his Lord Jashin, saying that he will never forgive Shikamaru. Shika countered and said that he does not need that God's forgiveness; he activated his Shadow Summoning Technique again. This time, Hidan was in the hole that Shikamaru dug up previously. Hidan now realized that Shika wasn't trying to be a hero and he did planned to separate the two Akatsuki and lead Hidan to this forest.

Shika told Hidan that he dug the grave himself when he cursed Asuma. Hidan went on on how he cannot die. Even he does not have a body and nothing else but his head, he will escape somehow and bite Shika to death. Shika now explained to him that the forest they are in is his Nara Clan's. They are the only ones allowed here and no one ever comes. The Nara Clan will keep Hidan trapped here forever!!!

Asuma appeared behind Shika and put his hand on his shoulder. "You got him now, Shikamaru...I entrust my Will Of Fire to you". Shikamaru -- "Goodbye, sensei"...Asuma disappeared. Shika threw his cigarette down the hole to Hidan and it exploded.

Teacher and Student finally grasp the victory together!!!

[I really really do miss Asuma =( especially you can still see him in the anime very much alive. The anime on YTV is still in the Chunin Exam/Konoha Invasion arc and the upcoming death of someone great (which is also the saddest part in Naruto history)]


Naruto 339

Shika's explosive tag trap ends the battle with Hidan. Hidan falls into the hole; he is still talking and told Shika that Lord Jashin will punish him for this. Shika tells Hidan that he does not scare him; he and Hidan has very different beliefs. Shika like other Hidden Leaf Nin believe in the Will Of Fire. Lord Jashin is nothing.

Hidan still wants to climb up to kill Shika. He said that he does not need his body to pass the judgement of Lord Jashin. He will bite Shika to death. Shika uses the explosive tag jutsu again and explode Hidan.

At the other side of the battle, Naruto uses his Shadow Clone Jutsu. Kakuzu finally realize that Naruto is the Nine-Tails Jinchuuriki. Kakashi gives Naruto and Yamato a briefing of Kakuzu's powers - a mid-range fighter and can use high-level jutsu of every element. Yamato knows why Kakashi looks beaten now; he calls Naruto.

Chouji and Ino worry about Naruto and tell him that he can't fight him head on. Naruto uses his clones and charge Kakuzu. All of the clones are attacked and disappear. Kakuzu commented that whether Shadow Clones is all that Naruto got. In reality, Naruto is using his clones to test Kakuzu's abilities and get some experience fighting him. Kakashi notices this and thinks to himself that Naruto has finally understand how to use Shadow Clones to their full potential. Naruto reasons that with Kakuzu's fighting style and his speed, he needs at least 3 clones to distract him. Three of his clones gathered and form his new jutsu. Ino and Chouji felt its awesome power and the sound.

Kakashi remembers back to their training and asks Naruto to use his jutsu to smash into his Resengan. That is how he injured his hand. Looking at Naruto, he sees the 4th Hokage.

Kakuzu seems to be afraid. He knows that he can't be hit with that jutsu and need to dodge it.

Naruto's new jutsu now rests in his hands -- [Wind Element] Wind Spiral Shuriken -- Fuuton Rasen Shuiriken!!! It is a resengan, but it has a shape of a large shuriken.

Naruto 336

Shikamaru was able to punch Hidan and connect their shadow, activating the Shadow Bind jutsu. Shika then drag Hidan off to another location and prevent his escape by using an exploding tag trap.

Kakuzu told Team 10 that they have underestimated Hidan by leaving him alone with Shika. He told them how long he has lived by mentioning when he fought his first ever Konoha nin -- The First Hokage. Each time his heart wears out or is destroyed, he will obtain the still beating heart of another nin and replace his own heart with it.
Kakuzu attacked Kakashi and captured him using those black threads. He planned to take Kakashi's heart.

Hidan attacked Shika as he thought Shika has reached his chakra limit. He activated his ritual by stabbing Shika to get his blood. It appears that his jutsu was a success as Shika was in pain.

Naruto 337

Hidan thought he has gotten Shikamaru. But at the same time he attacked Shika, Kakuzu cluched his heart. Kakashi has gotten Kakuzu's blood when he stabbed him with Chidori previously. Kakashi gave the vial to Shikamaru when he left with Hidan. Hidan was using Kakuzu's blood instead of Shikamaru's. Hidan did not know what was going on at the other side, but Shikamaru cut Hidan's neck to prove that he was OK. However, Shikamaru was low on chakra due to the extended use of the Shadow Bind jutsu. Hidan waited for the jutsu to end so he can attack.

Kakuzu wanted revenge for his two destroyed hearts. He attacked using his two remaining hearts/masks, but Choji blocked the attacks away. But that that time, Kakuzu absorbed the hearts back to his body again, sacrificing one for a replacement heart he has in store. Using his black threads again, he captured Team 10 -- Kakashi, Ino and Choji. He planned to take all of their hearts.

Before he can ripped out their hearts, a water and wind jutsu blocked Kakuzu's fire and wind attacks. Team 7 had come to the rescue -- the water and wind jutsu is a combo of Yamato's water attack and Naruto's wind Rasengan - together to form the Drowning Maelstrom jutsu. Yamato, Naruto, Sakura and Sai appeared and apologize for being late.

* Note that Naruto seems to be able to contain the wind Rasengan in one hand now. No clones seems to be needed.

Kakuzu fired the jutsu at Kakashi and Team 10, but they evaded the attack. Kakashi was at his limit (Sharingan and 4 Chidori attacks already). Hidan complimented that Kakashi is good when Kakashi was able to doge his attack.

Shika figured out that each of the mask animals are hearts of the shinobi that Kakuzu killed. In total, he has 5 hearts. For the animals, he uses his chakra and run it through the heart to gain that shinobi's element ability. One had been destroyed by Kakashi and now they need to take out the rest of the hearts to kill him. Kakuzu once again complimented on how smart Shika is. The Konoha team now needs to hinder Hidan and disable the Akatsuki pair's team work.

Shika wanted to fight Hidan and avenge for Asuma. Kakashi understand and gave the vial back to Shika (I think the vial contains Kakuzu's blood). Kakashi, Choji and Ino will fight Kakuzu. Shika was able to use Shadow Bind again to capture Hidan.

I have the RAW, but I will sum it up later today. It is an awesome chapter for the baddies and Kakashi.

[EDIT] Summary:

Team 10 watched as Kakashi's Chidori pierces throught Kakuzu's earth defense and attacked his heart. Shika said that if they did not defeat Kakuzu first, it will be a problem. They all thought that Kakuzu was down and were shocked when Kakuzu kicked Kakashi when he tried to attack Hidan as well.

Kakuzu took off his Akatsuki cloak and you can see that there are 4 animal masks on his back; one of the mask broke. The mask that broke was around his heart area, it was of the earth element. The masks separate from his body and form 4 different beings (sort of like Sasori's puppets -- Kakuzu controls those beings). The one with the broken mask dissolves after forming. Shika's Shadow Bind jutsu wears off. Each mask constitute an element (bird = wind, ox = lighting and lion = fire). Including the one that was broken off, Kakuzu is able to use at least 4 elements, assuming that one broken off is of earth element and Kakuzu is of earth element himself).

Both Hidan and Kakuzu attack Kakashi. The bird mask attack Kakashi using a wind jutsu. It did not bother to avoid Hidan who was in front of it -- as Hidan cannot die (at least not yet). The other ox mask attack Team 10 with lighting jutsu; however, Kakashi blocked this attack. This blast was powerful enough to dissolve his shinobi vest and headband. His mask was a bit torn as well (but you cannot see his face still =)).

Akatsuki complimented Kakashi that he was the only one who was able to avoid the attacks, because he has the Sharingan. The other lion mask attacked Kakashi using the fire jutsu that is called "Intense Pain".

Kishimoto stated that the official name for Naruto II (i.e. the current arc in manga after the 3 years of training) is --- Naruto: Hurricane Chronicles.
